In April 2019, the BBC ran an article based on research from Hiscox. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-48017943 The insurer found 55% of UK firms had faced an attack in 2019, up from 40% last year. The report went on to say that almost three quarters of firms were ranked as “novices” in terms of cyber readiness and that a lot of businesses “incorrectly felt that they weren’t at risk”.
